> Upgrade of IPTV sparks interest with global enterprises

Toptrend adapts IPTV platform for software servers.

Toptrend has adapted its DITV software, first reported in February as a new solution for telcos, so that it can also run software applications from a central server to up to 60 terminals.

The innovative solution does not require any downloads or streaming and instead operates through a 'viewing tunnel' so that users can gain access to DVD quality video without requiring an expensive heavy duty connection. The originally proposed solution also featured VoIP integration and online purchasing through a remote control that doubles as a cordless phone.

The upgraded solution now includes not only the functionality to run videos but can now run software too. a company spokesperson reported that "It can now run 60 workstation terminals from one server or PC as if everyone of those terminals were a standalone PC."

The terminals are built by DICE, digital interactive consumer electronics a subsidary of Murchison, and consist only of a screen and a keyboard, with embedded electronics and will cost an estimated $US600, a 60% saving when compared to a PC network.

There is a strong interest in both versions of the platform, a regional police force and insurance company are looking into the platform, also both British and Australian companies are looking into the DiTV platform.

Murchison Holdings has started work to create the graphic interface for the DiTV solution supplied by Murchison Group Ltd and Toptrend, and our creative talents are busy developing content, such as games, applications for our pay to view interfacewhich operates on a revenue share model.
