EARLY ADOPTATION OF DITV SYSTEMS
Customer
The customer was a large hotel chain with many hotels throughout Europe, the hotel was operating an outdated system which over the years had lost its functionality as it was no longer able to integrate with the local television broadcast successfully, neither was it able to communicate with the hotels own system for billing and administration.
Due to the nature of the current system the hotel was no longer able to continue adding functions to their television network and turned to us to modernise their systems.
Challenge
The challenge was to deliver a DiTV system that could allow customers to access both the local television broadcasts, on-demand video and music while integrating with the hotels own administration and billing system to allow hotel to control billing and content of the system.
Solution
The solution was to implement Toptrend's own DiTV platform due to its ease of use and its simple configuration allowing it to be adapted to suit the hotels requirements without taking a large amount of time and money.
The most important feature of the DiTV system was the ease at which it could be added into the hotels own room management, billing and content control systems, allowing the hotel to immediately take control of the system.
Benefits
The feedback from guests has been excellent, not only were they pleased that the local stations functioned properly but they enjoyed the flexibility of on-demand video programming and the on-demand music allowing them to choose their audio entertainment.
The DiTV platform was considered such a success with the hotel that they have asked us to integrate some new features into it. Adding VoIP into the platform will allow the hotel to generate additional revenue from the platform as their customers will be encouraged to use the cheap telecommunications rather than expensive mobiles or even landlines. Murchison Holdings has also been asked to add additional gaming content to the DiTV system allowing hotel customers to further enjoy their time with the hotel.
The modular design of Toptrend's DiTV solution allows these upgrades to be made easily and quickly without a major systems overhaul or a costly redevelopment program.
