Summary of the remote control types

There are three types of remote control available for the DiTV module. The traditional remote control, the PDA remote control and the integrated remote control.

Traditional Remote Control

This remote control looks much like a normal satellite television remote controlhowever it has a navigational joystick built into the design. As it is designed to use radio frequency not infrared to broadcast its signal it is much more usable as small objects do not block the signal easily.

The remote control also comes with some 'one touch' buttons allowing you to select features without having to navigate the menu system and select the feature you want to use.

The PDA Remote Control

This remote control is used both as a PDA and as a remote control to select functions on your DiTV platform. The PDA screen displays all the buttons of a remote control and a great many 'one touch' buttons to take you directly to a feature, with these all built into a touch screen the remote is very easy to use and flexible in its PDA functionality as well as a remote.

The VoIP Integrated Remote

This remote control feature all the usual television remote buttons, and additional menu navigation buttons, however it comes with extra functionality in the form of a touch screen for 'mouse' navigation and character entering, allowing the user to not require a keyboard in order to use the internet or menu system.

The second additional feature of this remote control is the addition of a VoIP phone into the remote, allowing you too call people using the remote control as a telephone. This is a handy feature as it means that you can answer incoming VoIP calls without having to find where you left the telephone, or make calls with the same convenience.
